Mission Mountain Area Pedal to Plate
HOW WE ADAPTED DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
Brief
Mission Mountain Area Pedal to Plate – MMAPP – is an agro-tourism biking event hosted in Northwest Montana. The route takes riders through the beautiful Mission Valley, making stops at various at local farms for tours and sampling delicious local food. Supported by local farmers and small businesses, MMAPP brings in riders from around the country for this unique fall event that supports the rural and tribal communities of NW Montana.
Deliverables
MMAPP is an annual fall event in the Mission Valley. When COVID-19 hit the US in early February we were in full planning mode and had scheduled the event for August 29th. We had to quickly adapt to the pandemic, but still wanted to support the small businesses and local farmers who depend on agro-tourism. In partnership with the Cooperative Development Center at Mission West, we designed a “Self-Guided Bike Route” that riders could safely enjoy in a socially distant manner, while still enjoying our beautiful area and local cuisine.
